Your Weapons Don’t Work On Me.

“Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.”

The weeks leading up to my first major ministry moment it seemed like all hell broke loose. While I’m trying to prepare for the two amazing speaking gigs God had lined up for me in New York:

  • I got hit with a bout of depression on Monday

  • Tuesday I got a flat tire

  • Found out later that week that my dad’s car had caught on fire (with him in it!!!)

  • That weekend my grandfather passed away

  • We almost missed the flight to NY

  • Some random dude tried to come at my bestie extremely disrespectfully RIGHT OUTSIDE THE VENUE WHERE I WAS ABOUT TO SPEAK and bae almost had to lay hands on him 😳

When I tell you the devil tried it?! The crazy thing about all of it though was it didn’t even hit me frfr until like halfway into this barrage that I was being attacked. You know why? Because God was out here shielding me from all of it!

When it finally clicked, all I could do was thank and trust God that He had my back and keep moving. It was weird too because while it was kinda scary to feel like dang, this joker is really trying to take me out...at the same time it empowered me because it felt like proof that I was on mission.

Have you ever felt like the minute you said yes to God or went to make a major life move that dumb stuff just started to happen for no reason?

Let me tell you something, sometimes opposition is proof that you are walking in your calling doing exactly what the heck God told you to do.

That’s what happened with the disciples in this week’s scripture. They were in a boat with Jesus. You can’t get much more in the will of God than that lol! But a storm still rose up against them. The devil tried Jesus Himself so you know he's going to try you too! But be of good cheer because, just like our Savior overcame him, so will you! Believe that.

Listen, your business is God’s business and His protection is surrounding it and you 24/7. Nothing can stop you and, if you believe it, nothing by any means will hurt you as you go after your purpose. If you’re experiencing opposition today, keep moving knowing that your steps are covered by the blood of the Lamb and trusting that the destroyer will never succeed against you.
