I'm getting 1% closer to my dreams today.
“Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
- Matthew 6:31-33 (King James Version)

Have you been feeling like throwing in the towel lately?
I had a tough day at the 9-5 yesterday and came home feeling disgruntled and still had work to get done on my business. I remember going to put my key into the door and thinking “You know what, I just feel like saying forget this entrepreneur stuff, my life would be so much easier if I didn’t have a business to come home to. What am I doing with my thirties? Have I even been enjoying my life?!”
Whoa there Negative Nancy lol
What do you do when you have moments like this? I’ll tell you what I did, I walked into my house, sat down at my desk and got to work.
Sometimes the best way to silence the negative talk is just to refocus our minds on something productive. Something that will actually get us closer to where we want to be.
That’s what Jesus was telling us to do in this week’s scripture. Instead of giving voice to thoughts of doubt and lack, He basically said get to work seeking the Kingdom. That’s what’s going to produce the provision in our lives that we desire to see.
Now I’m not one to spend too much time talking about the enemy, but I think it’s appropriate here to touch on the fact that he is actively trying sabotage the work God has for you to do. And the way he tries it (tries it!) is by feeding you negative thoughts that he’s hoping you’ll start to speak over yourself. He has no power over you because Jesus stripped him of all that (Colossians 2:15) so all he can really do is suggest lies to you and hope you’ll receive them.
BUT WE NOT GON’ 👏🏾 RECEIVE 👏🏾 THEM 👏🏾 TUHDAY!
Keep your eye on the prize this week and keep moving. Instead of saying those negative thoughts out loud, remind yourself of your truth and speak life over your vision. You are stronger than you know and closer than you think.
